July Favorites

Hi everyone!

Today I’m going to share with you some products I’ve been loving for the month of July :). These are not any new items in the market by any means, but I’ve been using these “old classics” a lot lately and thought I’d share my thoughts! The first few items on my favorites list this month are the base makeup products for the face. The primer that I really enjoyed using this month (and am almost out of) is the Too Faced Primed & Poreless. It is a 100% oil-free face primer formulated for sensitive or oily skin, great for erasing the appearance of pores and fine lines. This helps my foundation stay on my face throughout the day. During the summer time, I always like to apply primer before foundation to keep the skin matte and oil-free.

Recently, I’ve been loving the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (in Deauville). I had used the NARS Sheer Matte in the past and must say that the Sheer Glow’s consistency is smoother and silkier than the Sheer Matte’s, and the Sheer Glow’s finish gives the skin a better complexion than the Sheer Matte. It’s especially lovely in photographs!

To set the foundation, I’ve been using the Make Up Forever Microfinish Powder. Along with the primer, this powder helps keep my face nice and matte throughout the day and prevents my foundation from sliding off my face. The powders are extremely fine so it won’t give you that chalky look.

Early in the year, I had impulsively purchased the Dior Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm after hearing so many YouTube gurus rave about this product, and I am not regretting it one bit. With SPF 10, this lip balm smooths, hydrates, and gives your lips a really healthy look. It also smells divine. The only down side is having to stick my finger into the pot every time I apply the balm. It’s definitely an expensive product, but if you have a wishlist for items to try, I’d suggest putting this one down. You won’t regret it.

My favorite palette of the month has to be Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. This is the first edition of the Naked Palette and my favorite out of the three. The range of colors are great and the pigmentation is spectacular. I think the colors are universally flattering on any skin tone. I use this almost everyday, whether I’m creating a look for work or for a night out. I also like the slim, minimalistic packaging, making it easy to travel with. If you had to get one of the Naked Palettes out there on the market today, I would go with this one.

For the eyes, I’ve been loving these three liners. To tight line by eyes, I like to use my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Double Ended Eye Pencil in Zero/Whiskey. I had actually gotten this with my Naked Palette. I love both the black and brown colors. I usually tight line with black (because I have black hair) but sometimes I go with brown for a softer look. The liner is super smooth and soft. It’s perfect for smudging but after a few seconds, this liner won’t budge.

I’ve been using the STILA stay all day waterproof liquid eyeliner in jet black to line my upper eyelids. I got the mini version from the holiday eyeliner set Sephora had during December last year. I really like the felt tip applicator. This liner really doesn’t feather or smudge throughout the day. It stays put. I really like my Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner, but I would say this is my next best choice.

On lazy days, I just want to put on one color on my lid and go out the door. I’ve been really loving this fun, sparkly rose gold color. This is the SmolderEyes Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner in Golden Beige. This color just adds so much brightness to the eyes and it definitely doesn’t budge once you apply this on. You can even smudge out the color with the sponge applicator at the other end.

On my birthday this year, my friend gave me the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Waterproof Mascara and I’ve been using it almost everyday ever since. It’s a great waterproof mascara that doesn’t flake or smudge, and I also like the size and texture of the brush. I get lots of volume in my lashes with this mascara and not so much length (but that’s quite alright with me). However, with that hefty price tag, I don’t know if it’s worth the money…But nevertheless, it definitely deserves a mention in my favorites.

The last product on my list of favorites is my favorite of my favorites this month. I purchased this Jill Stuart Lip Blossom in Mandevilla Dress at the Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan. Jill Stuart (a Japanese brand) has always been one of my favorite brands but unfortunately, you can only find their products in Asia. So when I went to Asia this past April, I knew I wanted to pick up something from her collection. This was by far my favorite product. The best part of this lip product is the mirror on the very top of the lip blossom cap. It makes applying your lip product so much more convenient.

Apart from the really adorable, feminine packaging, the lip blossom is really great quality. The formula is very light and moisturizing. The finish is more of a translucent, shiny sheen. It reminds me of the Maybelline Whispers (which I love). The color payoff is great, not quite bold but not too sheer either. I highly recommend trying this lip blossom if you get the chance.

That’s it for this month! Thanks for reading! If you guys have any favorites this month, let me know in the comments!! :D
